Ryames Chan
Ryames is a chess tutor from Hong Kong with over a year and a half of teaching experience, including leading school curriculum lessons, chess clubs and coordinating inter-school tournaments. He played competitively for the University of Southampton Chess Team before moving to London, where he completed a Master’s degree in Filmmaking.
As a strategic positional player, Ryames holds an ECF rating of 1573 and an online rating of 1800 on Chess.com. He is currently training with the goal of reaching 2000 ECF by the end of the year.
Ryames is passionate about helping students grow through chess, a game he believes teaches invaluable virtues such as discipline, patience, and critical thinking. He strives to inspire both confidence and curiosity in his students, nurturing a lasting appreciation for the game.
