Chess Rising Stars LTD is a legal business registered with Companies House, number 10828952, incorporated on 21st June 2017.
These Terms and Conditions for the provision of chess learning services from Chess Rising Stars LTD are in power for the period from 02/09/2023 to 31/08/2024 and have been approved by Maria Manelidou, Director and owner of this business.

1. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
1.1 Where a private lesson results in being cancelled due to the Chess Rising Stars teacher being unable to attend, the student can choose to either receive a full-refund or 100% credit towards a future lesson.
1.2 Where the Chess Rising Stars teacher has received less than 24 hours’ notice of the student wishing to cancel or reschedule a private lesson, the lesson will not be refunded and will be charged at the agreed hourly rate for the full scheduled time.
1.3 If the student is late for a private lesson, the Chess Rising Stars teacher is not obligated to continue beyond the scheduled end time and the lesson will be charged at the agreed hourly rate for the full scheduled time.
1.4 If the student chooses to terminate a private lesson early, the lesson will be charged at the agreed hourly rate for the full scheduled time.
1.5 Where a student wishes to cancel an entire prepaid chess club or chess camp booking with greater than 7 days’ notice prior to the first session of the term being taught, the student can choose a full-refund or 100% credit towards a future Chess Rising Stars course.
1.6 Where a student wishes to cancel a prepaid chess club or chess camp booking with more than 7 days’ notice of the session being taught, the student can receive 100% credit for the cancelled session(s) towards a future Chess Rising Stars course.
1.7 Where a student wishes to cancel a prepaid chess club or chess camp booking with less than 7 days’, but greater than 24 hours’, notice of the session being taught, the student can receive 50% credit for the cancelled session(s) towards a future Chess Rising Stars course.
1.8 Where a student wishes to cancel a prepaid chess club or chess camp booking with less than 24 hours’ notice, no refund or credit will be offered.
1.9 Credit will be held for 12 months from the day of purchase.
2. Payment Policy
2.1 All Chess Rising Stars lessons require payment to be made in advance. Chess Rising Stars teachers are not obliged to fulfil a scheduled lesson commitment unless payment has been made.
2.2 The student can pay either by bank transfer or cash. Chess Rising Stars bank account details will be provided on request.
2.3 The student is required to make an advance payment for a block of 5 or more lessons to secure the discounted rate for individual online lessons.
3. Privacy Policy
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK data protection laws, we apply the following procedures regarding your personal data:
3.1 You may be asked to provide personal information, including:
Names of child and parents
Contact information including email address, telephone number and postal address
Other relevant information, such as medical conditions
3.2 We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
Internal record keeping
We may use the information to improve our products and services
We may require passing on contact or medical details to a Chess Rising Stars teacher
We may periodically send promotional emails about new services or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided
3.3 If you would like to be removed from the email distribution list, reply to the email with the word “Unsubscribe” in the body of the email.
3.4 We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
3.5 If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible at london@chessacademy.uk.
We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
