Launched in January 2024, this vibrant group of our Chelsea Chess Club is tailored to 5 to 7-year-olds.
Chess Rising Stars London Academy has designed the ideal environment to help introduce the game to younger children. Lessons are shorter than at our original Chelsea Chess Club and will be in a smaller teaching group.
Your child will discover the joys of learning chess in an interactive and enjoyable setting. We will work together on chess strategy and tactics, as well as associated skills such as sportsmanship, planning, and focus.
Registration is now open for the Spring Term.

ECF Development Pathway
The Chelsea Chess Club is recognised at Level 2 within the English Chess Federation’s Junior Development Pathway initiative. We are one of only eleven junior chess clubs nationwide that have achieved this status.
Completely New to Chess?
No knowledge of chess is required, although we suggest that children without a chess background join the club by week 3 of the term.
Safeguarding
We comply with the Department for Education’s September 2023 publication ‘After-school clubs, community activities, and tuition: Safeguarding guidance for providers’. Please read our Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions.

A 10-minute-walk from South Kensington or Sloane Square underground stations.
Additional Information
- Trophies, medals and toys will be awarded at the end of the term.
- The sessions will be taught by experienced members of the Chess Rising Stars coaching team, including Eric Eedle.
